I started off Sunday with some exploring behind Wat U-Mong. I always associate that part of town with good vibes. The minute you reach the road that leads to the forest temple, the temperature drops a few degrees and the farang start to thin out. Past the wat is one of my favorite coffee shops, a two-story wooden house with wide, open windows, good sunlight and a green courtyard. I put in a few hours writing some scenes, working through a book of Mary Karr poems and filling in some linguistic gaps. A slow, five-star day.
